We Make Exact Duplicate Moldings Matching any Unusual or Antique Molding Profile
Some houses built even as late as the 1960's have moldings that are no longer in general use. In an age and an attitude of scarcity, woodwork is getting thinner and narrower all the time. At the same time, the quality of the material is expanding into a wider range. It used to be, that woodwork was made, universally, of high quality stock. This is no longer true. Now you can even get really toxic "woodwork" made out of foam!
To match the woodwork in your home, we can serve you best if you are able to send us a small sample, a cross-section of the molding you need. If this is not possible, we may need to see a photograph of the molding, together with an accurate measurement of the width of the molding. We will also need to know the number of linear feet you need, and it's best to be liberal about this measurement because you can cut wood all you want, but you can't put it back together again. We usually send along a few extra feet just in case.
To sum it up, we need to know:
The profile of the molding. (the shape)
The width of the molding.
The thickness of the molding.
The number of linear feet. (how long is it?)
The species and grade of wood. (we can help you with this)
